Courtney Violette

(They\she)- Guitar/Vocals

Growing up in southern Maine, Courtney has been involved in the local rock music scene since before she could talk. Now they intend to make their own musical mark, playing guitar in The Hailing Tides. After almost a decade of moving, loss and depression making it difficult to enjoy making music, Courtney feels like they can finally make room for what brings them joy, stating, “Kindling an old flame with old friends is the best way I could think of to come back to myself in a full circle kind of way.”

When they aren’t rippin’ nasty cave man riffs and singing the pretty parts, Courtney enjoys going to as many concerts as they can afford, driving the coast, spending time with friends, hanging out at Costco and guzzling glizzies. She also currently lives with a live bear and a mosquito. Growing up in a household that listened to everything from heavy metal, punk and grunge to R&B, pop, and rap, Courtney has a vast taste in music. Influences of Iron Maiden, Accept, Clutch, Nirvana, Soundgarden and Black Flag started their musical foundation. As she grew into her own, bands like My Chemical Romance, Vanna, The Acacia Strain and A Day To Remember all became a huge part of their life. Today Courtney would tell you her biggest musical inspirations come from artists like Paramore, Frank Iero, and Kaonashi.
